Foo fighters win the Brit Awards

The Foo Fighters, a very popular heavy metal band, was awarded the Best International Album award in the recently concluded Brit Awards 2008 ceremony. This was the second award that the Foo Fighters received at the Brit Awards and the first award they received was the Best International Group Award. The Foo Fighters have been entertaining fans worldwide since 1995 with their loud, heavy guitars synching with pretty melodies and the success of the Foo Fighters has to be attributed to the founder of the group, Dave Grohl. As the Foo Fighters were not available at the awards function, the Foo Fighters Dave Grohl thanked the Brit Awards for their second award of the evening through a video message.

Dave Grohl, in his televised message, said that it was an honor for the Foo Fighters to be recognized among great music personalities like Culture Club, MC Hammer, Kula Shaker and Huey Lewis and the News. All the mentioned personalities have won the Brit Awards before them and Grohl said that he was happy to see the band graduate to such greater heights. The Foo Fighters were nominated along with The Eagles, the Kings of Leon, Arcade fire and Kylie Minogue for the Best International Album Award.
