Foo Fighters in a duel with Marvel comics
The Foo Fighters are really upset about the fact that the comic company, Marvel Comics, have taken couple of their songs for a TV advertisement without their permission. The Foo Fighters have decided to sue the comic company for copyright infringement and the songs that were used by the company are “Best of You” and “Free Me”. The Marvel Comics have been alleged of using these songs to promote their new animated series of X-Men and Wolverine and hence are suing the company according to Dave Grohl, the front man of the Foo Fighters band group.
The Foo Fighters have filed the case of copyright infringement at the Supreme Court in Los Angeles and have named the animated series producers, First Serve Toonz, First Serve International and Toonz Animation India as the culprits in the case. The Foo Fighters are claiming an astronomical sum that is kept under wraps as damage charges and attorney fees and are also seeking an injunction order from the Supreme Court to prevent the Marvel Comics Company from using the songs in future as well. The Foo Fighters were recently adjudged the Best International Band at the Brit Awards and are getting sell out crowds for their concerts.
