Peace, Love and Everything Cool @ Hippiefest

Every wondered what is it like being a hippie, even for a day? Now at Hippiefest 2008, there’s no reason to hide your hippie fetish! The Hippiefest 2008 tour will begin at the Dodge Theatre, Phoenix, Arizona on July 11 with seven tour dates in between, culminating in a climax at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater, Florida on August 9. The lineup is an exciting one and is guaranteed to bring back memories from the 1960s. It features Jack Bruce of Cream, an artiste renowned for the song “Sunshine of Your Love” and “I Feel Free”. Other acts include Eric Burdon and the Animals, The Turtles as well as Jonathan Edwards.

 

This is the third time that Hippiefest was held since its inception in the year 2006. Just like the previous years, Hippiefest was created as a “Concert for Peace and Love” and fans are encouraged to come dressed as a hippie and experience a day in the life of a hippie.

Def Leppard postpones two more concerts

The hard hitting and popular rock band group Def Leppard is now cancelling two more of their shows due to illness to their lead vocalist. The Def Leppard fans for the Grand Rapids concert on April 18th and the Detroit concert on April 19th are very much upset over the cancellation of the above shows. The lead vocalist Joe Elliott is at present recuperating from a serious throat infection that has led to the group to cancel four of their Canadian shows earlier.

 

The concerts at Grand Rapids and Detroit have been postponed until further notice and the Def Leppard fans are pretty such that their favorite rock band will be visiting their part of the woods pretty soon. The Def Leppard concert has received rare reviews at the places they have performed so far this season and the rescheduled dates for the cancelled concerts will be put up at the group’s website.

New Summer Concert Tour for John Mayer

Fans of John Mayer will be ecstatic to know that he will be preparing for his brand new summer 2008 concert tour. His tour will feature top notch opening acts such as Colbie Caillat and Brett Dennen.

In his latest tour, Mayer is expected to continue supporting his award winning “Continuum” album so it is not unusual if he were to belt out songs from said album. 22 tour dates have been confirmed on his official website but more might be added. The tour has been scheduled to run from July 2 to August 2.

To date, Continuum has been known to win two major categories in the 49th Grammy Awards: Best Pop Album and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for the first single released from the album “Waiting on the World to Change”. Besides this song, Mayer is expected to perform other great songs such as “Gravity”, “The Heart of Life” and “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room”.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band rocks Sacramento

 

The rock n roll legend Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band hit the stage at Arco Arena in Sacramento, California to perform in front of their die hard fans on April 4th during the second leg of their tour that they have undertaken to support 2007 album “Magic”. The band performed for more than two hours and it was a great rock n roll show that had the audiences captivated for the entire duration of the show.

 

The tone and voice quality of the legend Brice Springsteen did not even have a glitch from start to finish and received good reviews from his fans who attended the concert. Springsteen was absolutely enjoying performing at the Arco Arena and he and his band gave some blitzkrieg renditions of “Spirit in the Night”, “Magic”, “Devil’s Arcade”, Born to Run” and “Rosalita”. The fans were pretty excited to see the boss, Bruce, perform with the E Street band.

Update on Def Leppard’s Postponed Otawa Concert

What a disappointment! Def Leppard’s legion of fans that helped create the sold out status of their Ottawa concert is dismayed to hear that it has been canceled indefinitely. The latest update to this postponement is that the prolific British Leppard crooner is ill.

Official sources finally revealed that Joe Elliot has been nursing a cold, rendering him unable to hit the high notes especially during fan favorites “Photograph” and “Let’s Get Rocked”.

The band is halfway done with their 19-date tour that began March 27 in Greensboro, NC. Fans are ecstatic that their 12th album, “Songs From the Sparkle Lounge” is due out in record stores worldwide later this month of April. The are set to wow their fans at appearances on Dancing With the Stars as well as on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show.

Earlier on 15,000 fans were disappointed due to the postponement but Def Leppard vows to make amends.

John Mayer to perform at Rothbury Music festival.

John Mayer is scheduled to perform at the upcoming Rothbury music festival. It is a four day festival starting on the fourth weekend of July 2008. Rothbury festival is an environmentally sustainable music as well as camping event that is slated to be held at double JJ ranch located at Rothbury, Michigan. The tickets for the concert are on sale. Listen to the many hit tracks of the singer as he performs in the festival. Some of the best names in the music circuit would be participating in the Rothbury festival. According to the site of the festival there is an impressive lineup of a huge number of artists slated to perform at the festival.

 The Rothbury festival would also focus on the performing arts as well as the theatrical culture. Some of the most impressive theatre and circus performances are on the anvil too.  Rothbury is a music festival with a difference in that it is environment friendly and it also conducts energy fair that is dedicated to the cause of the environment.  

Keith Urban rocked Hordern pavilion

The fans of Keith Urban were spell bound with his performance at the Love Fest Concert in Hordern pavilion at Sydney. The success of this event was purely due to the outstanding musicianship shown by Keith and his group and the profuse support of the Urban Fans. The event has got appreciation from the critics of media that review concerts. Urban launched his show at Sydney with “Once in a Life Time” and later performed songs from “Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing”, his Grammy- Winning album.

A crowd of more than 5000 were made hysteric by the performance of Urban and his interaction with crowd. Urban asked them to sing verses and choruses and joked with the audiences. Urban’s wife and the star Nicole Kidman was present at the venue along with Cricket star Shane Watson of Queensland. Urban said that he is happy to perform in Sydney as he will be able to go home and sleep in his bed.
