Dion Tour

Celine Dion is on tour again. The tour is called the “Taking Chances Tour” which takes her to many venues throughout the US and other parts of the world.  Dion has been making music for many years now, starting in 1988 when she won the Eurovision Song Contest.  In 1990 she released her first album and from there it’s just gone up and up. She is a singer, actress, and songwriter.  Her music is influenced by genres as far flung as R&B to rock, gospel to classical.  People turn out in droves to hear her sing her famous songs in the way that only she can.  If you get the chance, I would certainly recommend seeing this world famous singer in person!

Radiohead: Tour’s over

Radiohead toured North America, Europe and Japan early in 2008.  The tour was intended to promote their newest album, In Rainbows, which was first released as a download-only album, which fans paid their own price for.  There was also a Greatest Hits release from the band after the tour, although this was released without their input, as it was their old producer who put it together.  There are reports, according to the Radiohead Wikipedia page, that the band will play in South America for the first time next year, which would be a great development for fans down there.  The band has been playing since the early 90’s and was influenced by many different genres and groups, including Queen, Elvis Costello, and several post-punk groups.  If you get the chance, you should really go see this group!

Miley Cyrus is Hannah Montana

Miley Cyrus is in the middle of a tour right now, bringing her Disney Channel character, Hannah Montana, to theaters across the country.  Cyrus has become a preteen phenomenon in the last year or two, with her show portraying a character with a combination of normal life and rockstar life.  Mothers, apparently, also really like Hannah Montana, because they see it as being a very wholesome show, but not boring.  At one of these concerts, expect to see thousands of 13-year-old girls very excited to see their favorite TV character singing some of her big hits of this year.  Check out the tour dates here.

Trey Anastasio and the rest of the Phish members have decided to reunite and perform in front of their home crowd at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton Virginia. For three days Phish will play a live set of all their hits to their more than eager fans. The band that has been hailed as one of the greatest jam bands ever has finally let whatever problems they had go away and fans are quickly seizing their Phish tickets. It’s a small three-day event but fans are anticipating many more Phish tour dates.

Stone Temple Pilots Near End

The title may be misleading. Their tour is nearly at an end. As far as the band goes, they are getting along quite swimmingly. But as far as the year 2008 goes, there is only a handful of opportunities to go and see the Stone Temple Pilots live. After an extensive summer tour that took them to every nook and cranny in the United States, STP is finishing up with a slew of shows in the southern states. Go to stonetemplepilots.com to learn more about the last couple of tour dates.
