Best (stolen?) Song!
Coldplay won the Grammy last night for Best Song of the year. Their song, Viva la Vida, is a nice song, especially with it’s nice introduction and a kind of floating melody. The song is certainly one of their best and we really like it. But let’s not deceive ourselves. Another singer has complained that the song is actually stolen from him. Joe Satriani has filed a claim that the song is taken from him, and the complaint is working its way through the system. There are very similar parts of this song, including rather large sections of the melody pulled right from his song. Or so it seems. Let’s be clear, it’s not been proven, but hearing the song, it’s kind of hard not to notice a strong similarity.
